GoodPing is operated by Verivello Ltd (United Kingdom), the data controller for the small amount of personal data described here.

When you use the tools

You do not need an account and we do not ask who you are. For each check we store the domain or address you looked up, together with a counter of how often it has been requested, so that popular checks can be cached and the service kept responsive. That record is not linked to you.

We keep a short-lived, hashed record of your IP address purely to apply rate limits. It expires within two hours and is never used to build a profile.

Standard web server logs (IP address, request line, user agent, timestamp) are written by the web server and rotated within 14 days. They exist for security and debugging.

When you set up monitoring

We store the URL you asked us to monitor, your email address, and the result of every check (status code, response time, success or failure). The email address is used only to send you the confirmation message and alerts about your own monitors. It is never used for marketing and never shared or sold.

Check history is retained for 90 days and then deleted automatically. Deleting a monitor — one click from the link in any alert email — removes the monitor, its history and your email address immediately.

Cookies and analytics

GoodPing sets no cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no session tracking and no third-party script on any page other than a web font served by Google Fonts.

Third parties

Two external services are involved. IP address details (network owner, approximate country) are looked up through a geolocation API, which necessarily receives the IP address being queried — not yours. Outgoing email is delivered through our mail provider. No other processor receives your data.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. For monitoring, erasure is immediate and self-service via the delete button on your dashboard. For anything else, write to hello@goodping.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner\'s Office.

Legal basis

Monitoring alerts are sent on the basis of your explicit request (consent), confirmed by the link you open before any monitoring begins. Rate limiting and server logs rest on legitimate interests — keeping a free service available and secure.
